Hello! For our artificial intelligence (AI) to accurately and quickly identify all damage to your vehicle (dents, scratches, chips), it is critically important to provide high-quality and informative photos.
This detailed guide will help you take photos that ensure maximum detection accuracy and protect you from misunderstandings.
1. Preparing for Shooting: Light and Cleanliness Are Your Best Friends
The accuracy of the AI analysis directly depends on the quality of the photos you provide.
1.1 Ensure Good Lighting:
Use natural light: The best time to take photos is during the day, ideally in bright but cloudy weather. Direct sunlight or deep shadows create harsh highlights and contrast that may hide or distort damage.
Avoid strong reflections: Take photos away from bright light sources, windows, colored walls, or any reflective surfaces. Reflections may be mistaken by the AI for damage or may hide real defects.
1.2 Keep the Car Perfectly Clean:
Wash your car beforehand. Dirt, dust, insect marks, water spots, and even a thin layer of residue can be interpreted by the AI as scratches, chips, or paint defects.
Impact on AI: The presence of foreign elements on the surface significantly reduces the accuracy of damage detection and classification. We are not responsible for inaccuracies caused by a dirty vehicle surface.
2. Angles and Distance: From Wide Shots to Detailed Close-ups
For complete and accurate analysis, you need to take three types of photos in strict order.
2.1 Wide (Panoramic) Shots
These shots provide context and help the AI correctly identify the model, color, and general condition of the vehicle.
Distance: Take photos from a distance of 3–5 meters.
Shots: Capture the car from four 45-degree angles:
• Front-left angle (showing the front and left side)
• Rear-left angle (showing the rear and left side)
• Front-right angle (showing the front and right side)
• Rear-right angle (showing the rear and right side)
Goal: The entire part being analyzed must fully fit into the frame (e.g., the entire door or bumper).
2.2 Medium (Zonal) Shots
These photos focus on specific panels you want to analyze (doors, bumpers, fenders).
Distance: Shoot from 1–2 meters.
Focus: Each panel must be captured in a separate photo, including the entire element plus a small amount of surrounding area.
Example: A separate shot of the entire front door, a separate shot of the entire rear bumper.
2.3 Detailed Damage Shots
These shots are required for precise measurement and identification of damage.
Focus: Only the damaged area.
Lighting: Take several photos at different angles (30°, 45°, 90°). Changing angles helps the light hit the dent or scratch differently, making it more visible.
Distance: Take photos from the minimum distance possible so that the damage occupies most of the frame.
3. Your Guarantees: Rules That Protect Both the Project and the User
To ensure legal clarity and high accuracy of our service, please take note of the following mandatory conditions:
3.1 Cleanliness Requirement:
We strongly require that all analyzed surfaces be clean. If significant contamination is detected (dirt, thick dust, snow, ice), we reserve the right to:
Reject the analysis and request new photos
Warn the user that the analysis accuracy may be significantly reduced due to foreign elements
3.2 Minimal Reflections:
The user must take reasonable measures to minimize strong highlights and glare (for example, avoid shooting near bright walls or in direct sunlight). AI may incorrectly classify a strong glare as a defect.
3.3 Responsibility for Errors:
Our project is not responsible for missed or incorrectly identified damage if it was not clearly visible in the provided photos due to poor lighting, dirt, strong glare, or failure to follow angle requirements.
3.4 Right to Refuse Analysis:
If the provided photos do not meet our minimum quality standards (blurry, too dark, excessively dirty), we reserve the right to refuse analysis until correct photos are submitted.
